A loan of $2,975 helped a member buy tostada (fried maiz tortillas.).

Intocables Group's story

The communal bank "UNTOUCHABLES" will begin it's second cycle with Pro Woman. It is a part of the Los Andes regional office, made up of nine members, directed by board members, and is lead by Mrs. Martha. The businesses the members of the communal association partake in are varied and include: Plumbing, blanket weaving, and tostada (fried maiz tortilla) sales.

Mrs. Martha mentions that she has been working with Pro Woman for six months and became a part of the institution by a friend's invitation. At the moment she has a tsotada business she has been working in for 26 years.

The loan being requested will be used to buy more materials (buy tostadas) which are acquired through the warehouses in Ceja then subsequently sold in Chacaltaya, Ceja, and at the minibus stops. This type of job helps her make money to support her family since she is married and has 5 children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Woman, she says she likes the attention they offer.
