A loan of $225 helped to buy seafood and fish.

Zoila Luz's story

Zoila is a member of the “Espoir Mi Bankito” communal bank. She lives in the city of Cuenca, a city of cold climate that has beautiful architecture blending the modern and the colonial; its residents are kind and maintain their culture and traditions.

Zoila, 44, is married and has five children who are 21, 18, 17, 14 and 13. Her two oldest daughters are married and independent. Her third son works to cover just his personal expenses and her two youngest children are studying at a soccer academy.

Zoila has been selling seafood for twenty years. She works four days a week from 5am until 7pm.

She’s in her second loan and the new loan will be used to buy all sorts of seafood and fish to grow in business. Her dream is to buy herself a house.
