Antonia's story

Antonio, age 60, is a single mother who had to raise her daughter alone. Her daughter is now 23, and Antionia is the grandmother of a minor child. She has her own house, which she was able to buy with a great deal of effort. Antonia’s work consists of selling cold drinks. She does this work at home. She has been doing this for approximately two years. She does this work alone because her daughter works at another place and helps her to pay the household expenses. What she likes about her work is that she has free time to do other activities. What she does not like is that she sometimes has to stay late at night because one of her customers comes to shop late. Later she hopes to be able to set up her business in another another field. This is Antonia’s sixth loan with the MFP institution. This is in accordance with the group that she is a member of. All of them are very responsible and punctual with their payments. She is very grateful to the institution because she feels that they have faith in her and give her the opportunity to feel useful. She will use the 2,000 soles that she has requested to buy drinks to have in stock. Aslo, she will start selling ice and different sizes of drinks.
