A loan of $375 helped to continue buying more merchandise for her store.

María Isabel's story

Maria, age 50, is a very enterprising woman. She now lives with her three children in her own house. Facing the need to handle the many household necessities, she decided to undertake a business in the area that pleases her the most. She also wanted to support her husband because he has had to work in a zone that is very far away from the city where they live.

She has been training for 20 years. This includes social programs teaching various women to knit. The good reputation that she has in the field of handmade knitting has served her in getting her store selling wool. She has had the store for one year, and she sells by the skein. María also teaches her customers, and that is her strategy for getting her customers and having them stay with her.

She generally sees to her business in the morning. She enjoys her work because knitting is a pastime. Also, being in this business is profitable in its earnings. That is why she wants to grow her business.

This is the ninth loan she has requested in a communal way with MFP. Her leadership qualities encourage the other members of her group to continue making their monthly loan payments punctually. She will use this loan to continue buying more merchandise for her store.
