A loan of $1,825 helped to purchase feed for hens.

Khatuna's story

Khatuna is from the village of Patardzeuli, Kakheri Region, East Georgia. She is 35 years old, married and lives with her big family: her husband, Manuchar, their 10 year old son, 3 year old daughter and her parents. Khatuna’s son goes to school.

Khatuna and Manuchar lead the agricultural business of the family. They own a poultry farm with 1200 hens. She sells the poultry in Tbilisi (capital city of the country), at an open market, to the poultry retailers. The family also owns a 400 sq meter greenhouse, where cucumbers are grown. Harvested cucumbers are also sold at the same market, to the green grocery retailers.

Khatuna has requested credit to purchase feed for hens. She will buy quality feed for the farm in order to get good poultry. In the near future, Khatuna plans to reinvest part of the received profit in the development of the poultry farm. This will help to increase the amount of hens in the farm and provide more profit for the well being of her children and the entire family.
