Diana is a married woman with three children, all of whom attend school. She lives in a rental house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past ten years, she has operated a retail shop selling to her neighbours and passersby. She faces a major challenge in high transportation costs in her business. She dreams of establishing a wholesale shop in the future.
With the Kshs 40,000 she wants to purchase bundles of maize flour, sugar and wheat flour. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
