A loan of $675 helped to purchase perfumes, skin lotions, cosmetics, and undergarments.

Ginger Alcira's story

The communal bank "Empresarias con Futuro", meaning "Entrepreneurs with a Future", meets every 15 days in the district of Palmar of the city of Manta. It is a city known for its beautiful beaches which are very well-visited throughout the entire year. It is a beautiful city without compare and it has many tourist attractions.

Here we meet Ginger. She is 28 years old and she is married common-law. She has three children, aged 10, 7, and 2 years old. The two eldest of her children are in school. Her husband is a professional driver and he works with the city bus lines. She has been with her communal bank for two years and she appreciates it for the benefits provided by the institution.

Our friend's goal is to earn an income for herself and to contribute to the household expenses. She is a merchant who sells Esika brand products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and ladies' accessories), and she also sells Leonisa brand ladies' undergarments. She also provides manicure treatments, work that she realizes at the same time as she carries out her sales, especially because everything is done from her home. She completes her sales on credit and she collects payments every week. She has been in business for two years and it has done very well. Her best sellers are cosmetics, especially because she also uses these products in the services she provides.

This loan will be used to purchase perfumes, skin lotions, cosmetics, and undergarments.

Her dream is to have a house of her own. She currently rents.
