Rosa Magdalena's story

The Empresarias Con Futuro [Entrepreneurs with a Future] community bank meets every two weeks in el Palmar in the city of Manta. The city is known for its beautiful beaches visited year round and for its unequaled beauty with many tourist attractions.

Rosa lives there. She is 61 year old and a single mother of 6 children. They are all grown and two of them still llive with her. Since the community bank started she has liked it because the group is very close and also the loans it has given her have been a big help for her business and personal life.

She is a hardworking fighter who works as a merchant to make her living. She sells various products and she loves making sales. She sells Yanbal products, Esika (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and women's accessories). She also sells clothing and products for the home. She works Monday through Friday three or four hours a day. She sells on credit and collects every week or every two weeks according to what her customers want. She has been doing this for more than 10 years and thanks to that she has been able to get her children ahead.

The loan is to buy perfume, creams, cosmetics, clothing and certain products for the home.

Her dreams are to have a boutique.
