A loan of $1,100 helped to buy aggregate materials for home building.

Teresa De Jesus's story

Teresa de Jesús belongs to the “Esmeralda” (Emerald) communal bank in Tarapoto District, San Martín Province and Department. She’s married, 41 years old and has one son.

She started out selling food providing room and board to missionaries in the zone. Seeing that she wasn’t earning enough to meet family expenses she decided, along with her husband, to start selling aggregate materials for house building. She invested all her capital in this business. Thanks to it she has attained many customers among construction firms, passersby and friends. She will use this 3000 sol loan to buy concrete, fine sand, coarse sand, stone, dirt and crushed rock by the ton to continue providing good customer service.

Teresa de Jesús is a hardworking woman. Her dream is to acquire a stone crusher and to have her own warehouse. She is very grateful to the Manuela Ramos Movement for helping enterprising women like her.
