A loan of $3,700 helped a member to buy 20 bags of rice and some fabrics to sell door to door.


Kakakuona Group's story

Rahel, who is in her mid-20s, married, and the mother of a small child, has had a general store business for three years now. She works from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.



This will be Rahel's second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania, having used her previous loan, since repaid, to purchase 20 bags of rice. She will use this loan to buy another 20 bags of rice and some fabrics to sell door to door. Her dream is to one day be able to build her own house.



Rahel will share this loan with her loan group "Kakakuona," which has a total of 15 members who will hold each other accountable in repaying their loans.
