A loan of $3,300 helped a member to expand his small farm and plant more vegetables.


Tunaweza Group's story

S., who is in his early 50s, is married and has one child who is going to school. He has been running a small fruit and vegetable farm for five years now. He works from 6 am to 4 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be his 6th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy an irrigation machine and expanded his small farm and pay his house expenses. He has paid back all his loans successfully. He wants a new loan to expand his small farm further and plant more vegetables to sell. His dream is to one day be able to buy a big irrigation machine and to send his child to good schools.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Tunaweza", which has a total of 19 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
