A loan of $4,225 helped a member to buy more sacks of charcoal.


Ngano Group's story

Enock, who is in his late 40s, is married, and has five children who go to school, has been in the charcoal business for three years. He works from 7 am to 9 pm daily and makes a small monthly profit. This will be his third loan from Tujijenge, Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy sacks of charcoal, to pay school fees and for household expenses; he has paid back all of his loans successfully. Enock wants a loan to buy more sacks of charcoal. His dream is to one day repair and renovate his house. He will share this loan with his loan group "Ngano", which has a total of 17 members who hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
