A loan of $3,600 helped a member to buy fabric, needles, pins and others.

Mujeres Trabajadoras Group's story

This committee came together thanks to one of the members who heard about the “Mujeres Emprendedoras” [Enterprising Women] Program and she gathered a group of friends and neighbors to form a group that they called “Mujeres Trabajadoras” [Working Women] and which has 16 members. They all work together in an honest, mutually supportive way. They define themselves as hardworking women who are responsible with respect to their obligations.

Olga is the President. She’s a cheerful, responsible, hardworking woman living with her children in a humble little house. She’s a seamstress and she comments that she has quite a bit of work and that she strives day to day with just one goal in mind: to provide her children with a better future and a proper, decent life. Her main dream is that her children become great professionals and that through their schooling they become someone in life.

She asks for the loan to buy fabric, thread kits, needles and the other indispensable items needed for her profession.
