Souriyeh is a 53-year-old married woman from Lebanon living with her husband. She has owned a tailoring shop since 2000 and has a previous experience of 30 years in the same field. She cooperates with her husband who works as a farmer to maintain the family's financial level at a good level.
Today, she is requesting to borrow $700 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase a new tailoring machine. She stated that this machine will help her increase her business productivity and thus her income. In the future, she is hoping to enlarge her shop and expand her business operation into other areas.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
