A loan of $1,400 helped a member to buy livestock to raise and sell.

Ishenbubu's Group's story

Ishenbubu, who leads this loan group, is 48 years old and married to a farmer. She and her husband have two sons, one of whom helps his father raise livestock while the other pursues his studies. Four years ago, the family started to breed livestock with an initial investment of 20,000 soms. They now earn about 12,000 soms a month by selling the animals they have raised. These profits have allowed Ishenbubu to buy furniture for her home and start building a shed for her livestock. She will use her portion of this loan to buy more livestock to breed. Her long-term goal is to build a house in Bishkek for her sons.
