Rosa Leticia's story

Rosa is a member of the Nuevo Porvenir [New Future] community bank. She lives in the parish of Cumbe. It has a cold climate and charismatic, friendly people who maintain their culture and traditions. They work as merchants and in farming and raising animals.

Rosa is 54 years old. She is a widow and a mother of 4 children, aged 25, 24, 23, and 20. Two of her children go to college, one is married and on her own, and another works and helps her financially. She owns the house she lives in.

Rosa works in a restaurant that she owns. She has done this for 25 years. She works every day from 6 in the morning until 9 at night. She also raises pigs, guinea pigs and chickens.

She is a founding member of her community bank and has belonged to it for more than 15 years. She will invest the money from the loan in buying pots, dishes, cutlery and other products for her food business.

Her goal is to keep growing the business.
