María Asunción's story

María is a member of the Nuevo Porvenir [New Future] community bank. She lives in the Cumbe parish. It has a cold climate and charismatic, friendly people who maintain their culture and tradition. They work raising animals and farming.

María is 65 years old. She is married and has 12 children, all of whom are adults. She lives with two grandchildren who work and keep her company. Her husband works in agriculture and she owns the house she lives in.

María works in agriculture. She raises and sells cows, sheep, guinea pigs, and chickens. She has done this for 10 years.

She has been a member of the community bank for 13 years. She is going to invest the money from the loan in buying pigs and chickens to continue her business.

Her goal is to have more cows to sell milk.
