A loan of $875 helped to buy a CD copier.

Edgar Patricio's story

Edgar started selling CDs eleven years ago and three years ago joined ASECOPAC (Ecuadorean Audiovisual Products Merchants and Mutual Aid Association) with Ecuadorean filmmakers. He likes his business very much because together with the Association they made a film and he sells the original CDs. He stresses that he enjoys his business because he likes movies and videos.

He works in downtown Progreso (a locality in Playas Villamil-Guayaquil) outside a school. He works from 7am until 6pm together with his wife. Sometimes he travels to Libertad for meetings or business-related investments.

He indicates that he’s had no difficulties that have kept him from doing his work. He is married to Verónica who does domestic chores and cares for their five-year-old son although they also have a 12-year-old daughter who is cared for by her grandmother who lives in Libertad.

Edgar needs a loan to buy a CD copier. With it he will be able to save quite a bit and be able to set up a large store with original CDs from Ecuadorean artists as well as to have a large house to be able to live happily in with his family.
