A loan of $950 helped to buy construction materials for her building project (sand, stone, iron, cement, etc.).

Violeta's story

Violeta was born in Gaza Province in southern Mozambique. She is widowed and has four children between the ages of 15 and 28. Violeta has finished eighth grade and continues to attend night school. She lives in military housing with her family and also supports two granddaughters by sending them money to help with household expenses.

She left Gaza on work assignment. She has been a nurse at the medical post for military headquarters for more than 34 years, and she earns 9,000 meticais per month. She uses this money for household expenses and saves some in her bank account (at BIM).

Violeta got a loan from BIM to build her house, and she was able to pay it off without any problems. She learned about Hluvuku from a coworker who is also a customer, and this is Violeta's fourth Hluvuku loan. She is asking for 25,000 meticais to buy construction materials for building her house (sand, stone, iron, cement and other items). The earlier loans were for 11,000 meticais, 15,000 meticais and 20,000 meticais, and they were used for housing.

Violeta dreams of finishing her building project and leaving the state-provided housing so she can make her family more comfortable. To do this, she intends to ask Hluvuku for more loans.
