A loan of $750 helped to purchase materials for making clothes for resale.


Christine's story

Christine is 52 years old and lives in the town of Bungohko in the Mbale region of Uganda. She is married and has four children. Three of her children are currently in school. Christine has a tailoring business, which she has had for five years.

To help expand her business, Christine has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase materials for making clothes for resale. With the help of the loan from BRAC, Christine hopes to generate greater profits and pay school fees for her children. In the future, Christine hopes to expand her business. Christine is a member of BRAC’s small enterprise (SEP) program, which has helped her prospects for the future by improving her business.
