A loan of $2,225 helped a member to increase stock and to buy a display case for her fish business.

Kwembe Group's story

Anna, who is in her early 30s, is single with two children. One of them goes to school. She has been running a fried fish business for 1 year now. She goes home when the fish are sold at around 9p.m. She is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be her 2nd loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to buy more fish to sell and has successfully repaid this loan. She wants a loan to increase her fish stock and to buy a display case for her fish business. Her dream is to one day be able to buy land.

She will share this loan with her loan group "Kwembe" which has a total of 15 members who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.
