A loan of $550 helped to buy a store.

Manuel Francisco's story

Manuel is a member of the “Unión y Prosperidad” (Unity and Prosperity) communal bank. He lives in Zhidmad Parish, a place of beautiful scenery. Its residents raise livestock and farm; many work at various jobs in the city.

Manuel is 41 years old, married and has four children who are 12, 10, 8 and 6 years of age. His oldest son is in secondary school and the other three go to the local little elementary school. His wife’s a farmer. He owns the house they live in.

He owns a sawmill. He’s been in this business 15 years. He works from 6am until 6pm from Sunday through Sunday.

This is the first loan he’s had with the communal bank and he will use it as part of the payment to buy a store since he’s going to start this business. His goal is to buy a vehicle for his sawmill business.
