A loan of $550 helped to buy shoes and secondhand appliances.

Antonio's story

Antonio requires a loan to buy diverse inventory, such as shoes and secondhand appliances. He sells them mostly in his house and by walking (specially the shoes). He has been running his business for two years. Antonio lives in the Hato Mayor region of the Dominican Republic, located in the eastern part of the country. Hato Mayor is a fairly mountainous region where the principal industry is agriculture.

Antonio has taken out four loans with field partner Esperanza International over the past two years. All of the loans have been paid back in full. He has used these loans to diversify the products that he sells. He is very excited about taking out this loan so that he can continue to grow his business.

Antonio says that his favorite thing is to do business and his most important challenge is to establish his business. He hopes to have solvency to solve any needs in the coming future. He has two children who live with their mother. They have been living separate for a long time. Even he said it is not a problem to provide for everything his children need.
