A loan of $550 helped to buy healthy feed for her animals.

Ofelia's story

Ofelia is a 38-year old mother. She lives with her two children in her father’s house, which lacks basic services, in the Tambogrande district, which is in the department of Piura. This region is known for its agricultural, ranching, and craft-making activities.

For several years, Ofelia has raised and sold farm animals (pigs, sheep, and poultry). She raises them in the pens she has in the front part of her house. She feeds them a balanced diet of grains and natural grasses, and once they have completed their growth cycle, she sells them to her customers or in the various markets in the region. With the profits, she will be able to cover her family’s financial obligations.

She has requested a loan of 1500 PEN ($550) from Edpyme Alternativa to buy healthy feed. Once she has fattened up her stock, she will sell them to her customers, and with the profits she earns she will repay the loan she has been awarded and improve her quality of life. With work and care, Ofelia has managed to get her family ahead bit by bit, which gives her lots of happiness and peace of mind.
