A loan of $1,000 helped make and sell costume jewellery.

Maricruz's story

Mari Cruz is 32. She has only an elementary-school education and is a single mother of two five-year-old twin girls, who are in preschool. As a single mother, she has always had to work, but a little over a year and a half ago, she took a community course, where she learned to make bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and rings using stones. Since she learned the trade well, she began to make her costume jewellery and sell it to friends and neighbors in the community. Her sales have been increasing, and she has more clients every day.

She needs this loan to invest in buying thread, cut crystal, clasps, gold wash, brooches, separators, chains, and pins to make her jewellery and then sell it.

She hopes her business will continue to prosper and wants to give her daughters a better quality of life and the ability to study for a career. She is very grateful for the loan she is receiving.
