A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase provisions for her food business.

Rosa María's story

Sra. Rosa is a member of the Communal Bank “Renacer Uncovia” and lives on the outskirts of the city of Cuenca. This city has cold weather and was named a World Heritage Site in 1999 because of the beauty of its churches and its historical center. The people have maintained their culture and traditions.

Doña Rosa is 60 years old, married, and has eight children. All of them are adults, married, and independent. She does not have a house of her own and lives in a rental property.

Sra. Rosa has a business selling food. She works Sunday to Sunday from 5am to 8pm. This work has allowed her to get ahead and she has been in business for eight years. Rosa is receiving her fourth loan from the Communal Bank and will invest the funds in the purchase of provisions for her business. Her dream is to own a home.
