A loan of $550 helped to buy fruit and vegetables in order to provide a greater variety in her business.

Mayra Liliana's story

Mayra is 21 years old and lives in Tulcán with her parents. She doesn’t have children. She is characterized as a serious, calm and correct person who likes to do things well and with care. She is very dedicated to her work and takes care of her parents.
She works at a local business center selling vegetables with her aunt. It is located in front of the market in southern Tulcán. She started this business with a small amount of capital that her mother gave her twelve years ago. She was not able to continue with her studies because of her economic situation.
This is the third loan she has received from FODEMI in the past two years. She will use this loan to buy more fruits and vegetables in order to provide more variety to her customers. In this way she can help her family with the expenses that they incur.
Her dream is to open a mini-market, increase her sales and improve the quality of life for her family, as it is now precarious. She also would like to improve the structure of their house.
