A loan of $3,975 helped a member to buy materials for sewing trousers and dresses.

Tukolane Group's story

Hassan, who is in his mid-40s, is married and has four children who go to school. He has had a tailoring business since 1998. He works from 8a.m to 10p.m daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be his 6th loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to buy a motorcycle, school expenses, household expenses and also increased on the business by buying sewing materials and has paid back all his loans successfully. He hopes for a loan to buy materials for sewing trousers and dresses. His dream is to one day be able to buy a land of his own.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Tukolane" which has a total of 17 members who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans
