A loan of $1,100 helped to buy two bags of pea seeds and sacks of fertilizer.

Celia's story

Celia, 42, has lived with her husband, Eusebio, for 16 years. They have three children, who they love very much, and all live together in their own house in the Cumutay rural community. Two years ago her economy improved considerably, all thanks to earned household income. According to her husband, who works as a bricklayer, Celia is involved in agriculture. She has been a crop farmer for 20 years, mainly of peas, potatoes and corn. She sells her produce for a good price at the wholesale market in the city where she travels after each harvest.

Through her farm activity she was able to acquire five patches of cropland and two good oxen for ploughing the fields. "I will never stop growing crops. I'll always maintain the family tradition.", says Celia proudly. In the future she would like to improve the quality of her produce. She belongs to the communal bank "Lindo amanecer de Cumutay" and this is her ninth loan through MFP, where she hopes all of you will collaborate so she can continue meeting her goals. She is committed to paying back the loan on time. She plans to use the loan to buy two bags of pea seeds and several sacks of natural fertilizer to make the next planting season successful.
