A loan of $375 helped to purchase a sack of pea seeds.

Nilda's story

Nilda is 31 years old and she has been living with her husband Javier for the past 10 years. They have 3 children together and they enjoy a house which is their own property. It is located in the community of Cumutay. Since last year she has been making the household's financial decisions alone. Nine years ago, she and her husband started out planting peas, lettuce, and potatoes in agricultural land with they rented. The help that this business provided them was primordial and important. Last she worked at a private company which is in charge of producing a hydroelectric dam in the region. Nilda now dedicates all of her strength in maintaining her cultivations and to plant as she always did during the year. What she most enjoys about her work is the harvest season because this is when she is able to see all of her efforts materialized and she is able to sell the food products in the wholesalers market in the city of Tarma. Currently she wants to improve the quality of her plantation to be able to earn the necessary capital funds to start up a grocery store in her locality.

She is a member of the communal bank "Linda Amanecer de Cumutay", meaning "A Beautiful Dawn in Cumutay". It is her second loan through MFP (Kiva Field Partner) and she hopes to have your support in helping her reach her objectives. She is committed to making her loan payments on time. Nilda, on receiving your support, will invest the funds she requested in the purchase of a sack of pea seeds to successful start up her next plantation.
