A loan of $375 helped to buy ingredients to bake more bread.

Jhans's story

Jhans, 25, is a single, hardworking man who recently became independent because he leased a room of his own in Unión Popular (Peruvian Central Jungle) where he lives. This young, enterprising man does several activities during the day. Since childhood he’s worked farming bananas on a hectare of land while growing some coffee on the other hectare. According to him, he harvests bananas every two weeks. He’s been farming for two years now and assures that, thanks be to God, he was able to sell his crops for very good prices because the sellers at the Sanchirio Cooperative recognize the good coffee beans that he inherited from his father, Luis, 45, but that he continues to improve with help from his brother, Edwin, who is his partner.

Because of everything he’s learned this season, Jhans wants to continue planting but without neglecting his bread making business, which he does during the day. He does very well. Everyone knows him and buys his delicious bread. Because of this he plans to open a bakery in the future.

He belongs to the “La Unión Hace la Fuerza” (Unity Makes Strength) communal bank and this is the second MFP loan where he’s sure to reach his objectives because the association is composed of responsible, hardworking people.

If Jhans were to receive your support, he will use the requested money to buy ingredients needed to manufacture the delicious bread that only he knows how to make.
