The community bank "The Three Angels" meets every two weeks in the town of Montecristi, which is know for its rich pre-colonial culture and its crafts, which are known nationally and internationally. This is the home of the famous Panama hats. Teresa is a founding member of the community bank, and she likes it because of the help that is always offered to her. She is 41 years old, single, and has no children. She lives in her parents' house. She has a general store in her parents' house. In addition to selling goods such as rice, sugar, oils, and detergents, she also sells ice cream, sodas, certain medicines and now she has also added some printing and stationary supplies. She works every day from 6:00am until 10:00pm. She has been running her business for 18 years, and it has done well. She will use this loan to help stock her store.
