A loan of $1,325 helped a member to increase her stock of fruits, vegetables and dry foods.

Munduli Group's story

Sinajumu is in her early 50s and married with four children, two of whom go to school, and two grand children, one of whom goes to school. She has been running a business selling fruits and vegetables, plus dry food like wheat flour, sugar and baking flour (this business is called genge duka). She works from 6am to 9pm daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be her first Motisha loan from Kiva's partner, Tujijenge Tanzania. A Motisha loan is a product offered by Tujijenge Tanzania that allows borrowers with good credit ratings to pay back their original loans faster and receive extra money before their original loan term has ended. She wants a loan to increase her business. Her dream is to one day be able to add two other rooms to her house. She has built two rooms so far and she wants to be able to have four rooms altogether.

She will share this loan with her loan group "Munduli B" which has a total of 10 members who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.

In this group: Sinajumu, Fatuma, Janeth, Anna, Mshammu, Leonard, Getruda, Sharifa, Rehema, Helena
