A loan of $1,700 helped a member to buy milk to resell.

Buhembe Traders Association Group's story

Geoffrey is a 45-year-widowed father of five children in the Ibanda district in western part of Uganda. He derives his livelihood through the sale of milk and ghee. The western part of Uganda is known for producing large quantities of milk and bananas, and Geoffrey is someone who has taken advantage of the opportunities offered by his location. He has cows of his own from which he gets milk to sell. However, because the milk his cows produce is not enough, Geoffrey travels and buys more milk to resell at the Buheme Diary Centre. He is described as a hardworking man and he has steadily handled his business for four years. Geoffrey earns 100,000 UGX in weekly profit and makes additional income from rentals and sometimes from selling his cattle.

Geoffrey is requesting a loan to buy more milk to resell to get more profits. He thinks positively about the future and plans to buy his own milk cooling system as well as educate children to university levels.
