A loan of $1,175 helped to buy fruit, vegetables and clothing to sell.

Ana Isabel's story

Ana, 38, lives in the city of Leon. She is married and is the mother of 2 children. She has only a 3rd grade education. She is a trader who sells fruits and vegetables, and also clothing. She started selling fruits and vegetables on the street when she was 19, and she started that business with her own capital. Six years later she started selling clothing as well, and gradually, as a result of her efforts and her daily struggle, she and her family have had enough to live on.

She requests a loan to buy fruits, vegetables and clothing to sell. With this investment she hopes to build up her inventory of fruit and clothing, and have a variety of products to sell so that she can increase her sales. In the future, she plans to have a clothing and shoe store and a motorcycle to get around. Her next goal is to buy a metal cart for her business.
