A loan of $1,175 helped to buy more pigs and chickens.

Verónica Lucía's story

Verónica lives in “San Miguel de los Bancos.” She’s 24 years old and lives with her two young children, ages two and seven. She’s single and works on her own to support her household.

She’s been raising pigs and chickens for the past four years and through this has been getting her children ahead and meeting their needs. She learned this activity from her sister who had the initiative. She’s faced many difficulties. On one occasion a plague killed all the chicks, forcing her to start almost from zero. Despite these adversities, Verónica does her work with great optimism and teaches her children the beauty of nature.

Her work raising chickens and pigs and selling their meat requires lots of sacrifice. She uses what little spare time she has to work on the household chores and spend time with her young children. She also likes to play outdoor sports.

Verónica wants to buy more chickens and pigs in order to increase her income. She needs a loan in order to be a little closer to her dream, which is to have her own home with a large space for her animals.
