A loan of $350 helped to buy five 'dolo' jars.

Marata Elisabeth's story

Ms. Marata Elisabeth is a widow and the mother of four children. The eldest is 50 years old, and the youngest is 26. One of them goes to school. Marata has thirteen persons to support. She has been a retailer of dolo (a type of beer made from millet or sorghum) for 35 years. She gets her supplies at the Kouritenga market. Her customers are her neighbors, friends, and anyone who comes to the cabaret.

Marata wants to buy five dolo jars. With her profits, she helps take care of her grandchildren. Her ambition is to gain a plot of land for making the dolo herself.
