Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $950 helped buy clothing, perfumes, creams, shoes, purses, and treatments, to sell.

Reyna Aquilina's story

Reyna Aquilina is 40 years old and with much effort she has been able to advance her family. All of a sudden, she faced the necessity of paying for the family's expenses. She had learned about business at the age of 12 from her mother, who while alive carried out the same activity.

Independently, Reyna has 16 years doing this. As a single mother she had to find resources to maintain her children and her home. She hoped to quickly provide improvements in the home, so her children could live under proper conditions.

The loan she solicits is for working capital to buy clothing, perfumes, creams, shoes, purses, and treatments, among other things, to sell.
