Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Sabina Del Carmen's story

Sabina is 56 and lives in the Modesto Palma neighborhood of Leon in Nicaragua. She has a grocery store located in her home, where her clients come to buy her products. She has had this business for 30 years, and the income from it has allowed her to make her family more comfortable. It is for this reason that Sabina wants to invest in this business.

She is seeking a loan to buy sweets, soft drinks, staples, cream, milk, bread, and detergents, among other things. She has worked only with microfinance partner Fundación Leon and has an excellent payment record. She is very grateful to receive this loan.
