A loan of $925 helped to buy leather, nails and shoe-polish for her husband's shoe-making business.

Zarina's story

Zarina is 47 years old and has six children. Unfortunately, none of them was able to complete their education due to financial constraints. Two of her children have a business making "Pranday" (an ornament used to tie back the hair) while one works in a medical store for a low income.

Zarina's husband has a shoe-making business. He makes contracts from different shoe-selling stores in cities and fills their orders to earn profits. Zarina also supports her husband financially by making "Pranday". She operates this business with her two daughters. She sells these "Pranday" to different cosmetics shops.

She has applied for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her husband who has a large order to fill. With the loan, he will buy leather, nails and shoe polish in bulk to be able to complete the orders on time and earn more profit.

He has been operating his business for the past 15 years and Zarina hopes that an investment will put her husband’s business into a well-established position.
