Jitahidi Msakuzi Group's story

Mwanahawa, who is in her early 30s, is a widow with two children who go to school. She has been running a grocery business for three years now. She works from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. (for six hours in the evenings only) daily and is able to make a small monthly profit.

This will be her fourth loan from Tujijnge Tanzania. She used the previous loans to increase grocery stock and for school fees and household expenses. She has paid back all her loans successfully. She wants a loan to increase beer stock. Her dream is to one day be able to open a shop for selling food.

She will share this loan with her loan group, "Jitahidi Msakuzi," which has a total of 16 members who will hold each other accountable in paying back their loans.
