A loan of $575 helped to buy 200 chicks and to establish her own chicken coop.

Hawa's story

This borrower is married to a polygamous man who has four wives. She lives in a house with her four children. She has been running a poultry business for a year to help meet her own needs, those of her children, and to help her husband meet the many family expenses. She is requesting a loan of 250,000 F from IMCEC to buy 200 young chickens and to maintain her chicken-raising facility. Her income earned from this work will help her to meet the expenses associated with her family’s needs. For the future, she foresees establishing a large poultry enterprise on her plot located at the edge of town.
