Nadia is a 45-year-old single woman from Lebanon living with one parent. After the death of her father, she became the only one responsible for the family. She started her work as a female hairdresser five years ago. She receives clients at her home and she also serves them at their houses. She works hard because she is the only income source of the family. Today, she is requesting to borrow $1,200 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to rent a small salon and refurbish it in order to welcome customers properly. She feels positive about her business prospects for the coming years.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
