Rafic is a 35-year-old single man from Lebanon. He is living with one parent and two siblings. 19 years ago, he started to work as a female hairdresser. Today, he is the proud owner of a beauty salon. He decided to open his salon in 2009, after seeing a need for such services in the region. His business income allowed him to significantly improve the family’s standards of living. He has one full-time employee helping him with the work. Currently, Rafic is seeking a higher income so he is asking to borrow $1,000 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase additionA. equipment needed to better serve his clients. He has high hopes for the future of his business.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
