Maria Diana's story

Maria is 31 years old, single, and she does not have children. She own her own home and it is located in the district of Lambayeque. It is equipped with water and electricity. The neighborhood is a small community consisting of approximately 50 families. Maria raises and sells small livestock and poultry. She has been raising poultry, ducks, turkeys, and hens from the rear section of her house for the past 4 years. When the livestock have attained a good level in their development she offers them up for sale to the merchants who visit the region where she lives. She wants to acquire more small livestock and feed for her poultry. There is an increase in demand during this season. She has requested a loan from Edpyme Alternativa (Kiva Field Partner) in the amount of 1000 nuevos soles. Maria is very devoted to her work. Those individuals that know her hold her in great esteem and care for her.
