La Playita De San Lorenzo Group's story

The members of this group decided on the name "La playita de San L.", meaning "The little beach of San L.". They chose the name because close to their community there is a river that has almost run dry and it looks like a beach.

This group is made up of ten members and they meet every two weeks to make their payments. The representative of this group is named Altagracia. She is forty-two years old and she has a grade five education. She has two children, a fourteen year-old girl named Karina who is in grade eight and Felipe who is twenty-two years old and he is in attends college in the city of Pinotepa. He is studying accounting.

She has been selling poultry for the past twenty years. She is very happy for all that she has been able to accomplish for the last twenty years. Thanks to her business she has been able to keep her children in school and she has been helping her husband Antonio with her household expenses.

Her clients have been requesting that she serve dinner in the evenings for the delicious foods she prepares. Whenever her daughter doesn't have class she helps her to sell tacos that she prepares overnight. Her daughter sells them in the market where she works.

She requests a loan to purchase more poultry. The business is going well and she has many clients. She obtains very good earnings. Three months ago she started to sell poultry in wholesale.

She is very happy because everything she sets out to do she is able to gradually accomplish. She is thankful to Fundacion Realidad (Kiva Field Partner) for their help in attaining her dreams and for helping her fly high enough to accomplish all of the plans she has for her children and for her husband.
