A loan of $550 helped to purchase seven sacks of natural fertilizers.

Yolanda's story

Yolanda, age 49, is a hardworking woman who lives with her husband Antonio. Together they have been able to succeed on behalf of their children and provide them an education. At the moment, only one child lives with them in their home in the village of Patay. Through effort and dedication, Yolanda and her husband formed a family that gives them great pride. Farming has been her main business activity for the past 20 years and has made it possible for her to pay for her children’s higher education. Her children visit her frequently and she is happy to have the love of her grandchildren who she spoils. Yolanda’s main crops are gladiola flowers, peas, and potatoes. She provides her crops frequent care and fertilization because she knows this attention will result in good sales at the end of each harvest. Yolanda sells her crops at the wholesale market in Tarma. Depending on the quality of her crops, she will even take them to Lima where she can get a better price. She planted gladiolas and peas early and they will soon be ready to harvest.

Yolanda is a member of the Communal Bank “Picaflores de Patay” and is receiving her fifth loan from MFP. She hopes to receive everyone’s support so that she can continue with her goals. In addition, she wants to be responsible and honest with the development of her Communal Bank. With the support she received, Yolanda will invest the money she requested in the purchase of seven sacks of natural fertilizers for her pea and gladiola crops that will be harvested in a few months.
