A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase a bag of pea seeds and five sacks of natural fertilizers.

Haydee's story

Haydee, age 32, is a shy but hardworking woman. She and her husband Hernán take care of their two children, Hilder and Melina, and live in harmony in their own home in the village of Patay. Haydee engages in farming. Her main crops consist of peas, beans, potatoes, flowers, and corn. She has 12 years of experience. What she enjoys most about her work is trimming the potato flowers since it signals that the harvest is approaching. Her dedication to her land allows her to generate good earnings at the wholesale market in the city of Tarma where she sells her harvest. However, she sells gladiola flowers at the central market in Lima. Her plans are to plant gladiola flowers and maintain good conditions for planting beans so that she can produce good output at harvest time. In addition, she has crops of corn that will bear fruit during the first few months of the upcoming year, which will secure her seasonal income.

Haydee belongs to the Communal Bank “Los Picaflores de Patay” and is receiving her eighth loan from MFP, which has provided her good experiences that have helped to improve her crops. With everyone’s support, she hopes to continue her progress. By obtaining assistance, Haydee will invest the money she requested in a bag of pea seeds and five sacks of natural fertilizers for the crop of corn that she planted a month ago.
