A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase a cow.

Lucia Morena's story

Lucia is 50 years old and lives by herself in a rural area of the country. She makes a living raising livestock and selling dairy products such as milk, cheese, cream and other items using the milk from her cows. Lucia is an exemplary woman who will not give in and wants to make the most out of life. Every day she gets up very early to have her rich milk ready to offer to her customers, who come by often because of the clean conditions and good prices she offers. She is a very positive woman who loves raising her animals and does not want to give it up since it's her primary source of income, and she calls it her favorite pastime. She plans to use this loan from Kiva partner Apoyo Integral to purchase a new milk cow that can produce at least 20 bottles a day since she currently doesn't have enough to satisfy all her customers' demands. With the cow, she hopes to be able to cover her increased demand and improve her income to give her hope for a better life.
