He lives in his own house with his wife Nancy, age 20, and their two beloved children to whom he would like to provide with a good education. Jhonatan hopes to escape the poverty that his household suffers from, which is why tries to use the most modern farming techniques on his farm. He grows a variety of crops including cacao, coffee, and spices such as annatto and turmeric. These crops yield a profitable return. He has been farming his own land for six years and works as a day laborer on other farms in his spare time, to bring in extra income to cover food and schooling expenses for his youngest children.

Jhonatan needs financing to improve his home and is applying to MFP, a financial institution that helps low-income clients access credit to invest in improving their lives. He needs a loan for bricks, cement and metal rods to improve the front of his house. In the future, Jhonatan plans to improve his family's quality of life by working hard on his farm and later buying more land. This will be his first loan with MFP. He promises to make his loan payments on time so that he can qualify for more loans in the future. With the 3,000 PEN Jhonatan is requesting, he will refurbish his home.
